6 months and 23 days ago I had a going away party in Columbia, MO. Below are some of my favorite images from the event. I told myself I would wait a few months before coming back to these photos and I am so glad I did today.
It’s hard to put exactly into words what these images do to my heart. It’s like one part sadness-that I am not proximally close to these people, five-thousand parts grateful-that they are people I call friends. These people are brothers and sisters of mine and they are going places. When I look into these images, look into their eyes, I’m reminded that I am loved and that the world is full of people who are lights in dark places. I am reminded that God puts people in our lives for reasons. We don’t always have access to those reasons… but sometimes we get glimpses.
Friends, you make my heart warm. I need to do more casual portrait sessions of people in my life. I will treasure these.
