As mentioned in my post from yesterday, winter break is very different time than any other, even though my day-to-day schedule isn’t really effected. I know everyone’s life is pretty different around the holidays, but living in a college town, working for Mizzou, living in a house full of students and being part of a particularly young church… the dynamics of my life are very different.
BUT, this break has been unlike any other break in how many “long lost friends” I’ve been reunited with. Friends who are currently living in places like South Africa, Indonesia, Memphis, South Dakota, New Orleans, Virginia and Nashville.
You know when you move from your hometown, for college or a job, and eventually you come back and see your old friends? It’s weird because I know better, now, what it feels like to be on that “at home” side. It’s hard when good friends move, but reunion is always sweet. All these friends below are those sort of friends you have, that no matter how much time passes, you just pick up where you left off.
Seeing all these friends has been a real blessing. #blessed
Also, I failed to get a real picture of just Austin and me, so I hired an artist to create an image that really told the story of our friendship.
